Scripture: I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen (Eph 3:16-21)

 
         
  Comment: It’s cup final day tomorrow. One sports reporter said that it didn’t have the glamour he remembered as a boy, when it ranked only just below his birthday and Christmas day. We can have that feeling about all sorts of things and part of it is just a rosy “it’s not like it was in my day”. It’s sad if any part of our life starts to feel like “this is as good as it gets” or “it’s all downhill from here”. Sir Ranulph Fiennes didn’t have that attitude as he set out to conquer Everest after retirement age!
It’s God’s intention that our love for each other and for Him should continue to grow and not settle into something less than the best.

 Why not adjust the words of Paul’s prayer above so that you pray it for yourselves.
